Biography

Sarah A. Walker is a PhD candidate in the School of Psychology at the University of Sydney with a Bachelor of Science (psychology) and a Master of Philosophy (psychology) also from the University of Sydney. Sarah’s research examines how self-report and informant-report ratings differ across contexts, considering the influence of response bias, self-knowledge limitations, and perceptions of others. Her work explores the potential ‘faking’ in personality measures such as the Dark Triad, Five Factor Model, and emotional intelligence. Sarah also investigates emotion regulation (intrinsic and extrinsic) perceptions in romantic relationships, the motivations underlying extrinsic emotion regulation, and their effects on personal and relationship wellbeing. In addition to her research, Sarah teaches in the School of Psychology, and is a sessional academic at the University of Sydney Business School, and previously with the Faculty of Education and Social Work as well as the Business School at UNSW. Sarah is a member of ACPID, ISSID, SPSP, SASPS, and the International Society for Emotional Intelligence. Sarah served as a student representative for ACPID from 2019 – 2022.
